Jul 7, 2008 · And now I have run into another problem. My Maytag Washer seemed to making alot of noise the other night during the spin cycle. It seems that the drum that holds the clothes is off its center and spinning out of control. When the washer is stopped, you can literally move the drum back and forth with your hands. If the washer is overloaded, it can go out of balance, and the basket may hit the sides of the washer cabinet. This causes loud noises and vibration. Follow your Owner's Manual for loading instructions. Always use only High Efficiency (HE) detergent. Refer videos shown below for “Leveling the washer” or “Out of Balance”.OK, I got the agitator and the inner drum off. Without those parts, it works fine !! All I can see in there now is excessive hardwater buildup deposits. Chunks maybe 1/8" or greater in thickness.
